Axibase Fabrica is a web-based application which consists
of three key components: an integration interface, an in-memory model-based status engine, and a visualization
engine.
Axibase Fabrica provides a set of pre-configured adapters which can be
used to transparently import resource models from
a variety of system and network management tools such as HP OpenView, IBM Tivoli Monitoring, Microsoft Operations Manager. Once
the referenced resources are assembled into a service
model, Fabrica
continuously monitors these resources in order to evaluate the
overall status of an application or service and its individual
components.
Once the Fabrica server detects a change in component severity,
the visualization engine is invoked to dynamically manipulate
shape properties such as border, color, shadow and native overlay
icons. Fabrica web-based views can be accessed anywhere, anytime using a
standard browser.
One of the key differentiating factors of this architectural design, as
compared to event-based aggregation products, is that it provides
integrated diagnostics and drill-down tools while ensuring referential integrity
of severity status representation.
Fabrica does not require users to invest substantial resources in the
development and maintenance of sophisticated event processing
rules. Moreover, it enables customers to easily migrate and redeploy service
models among disparate management frameworks. |
