Axibase introduces advanced reporting for IBM Power Systems

October 4th, 2010

IBM Tivoli Europe Conference, Dresden, Germany

Axibase Corporation has today announced that it has released a new reporting module for IBM Power Systems as part of its flagship Axibase Enterprise Reporter product. The P Systems module provides an innovative capability to automate the capacity planning process for logical partitions (LPARs).

“We started off by computing optimical CPU entitlements for individual partitions based on historical data,” recalled Sergei Rodionov, President and CEO of Axibase. “This is a breakthrough in LPAR planning on its own, but we also realized that recommendations could be improved if you take a holistic view of the entire system including shared pools, LPARs, and even WPARs in AIX 6.1. That's exactly what Axibase is delivering today, at this IBM conference - a solution that allows you to take a P System frame and fully optimize its resource entitlements on a continuous basis. We believe this approach will allow our customers to increase frame consolidation by at least 25% while also reducing compute bottlenecks in their Tier-1 applications."

The new Power System reporting capability is available for IBM Tivoli Monitoring 6.2 customers using Axibase Enterprise Reporter, version 206.641. For more information on this feature, visit AER home page at /tivoli/wd.htm.
