Axibase Releases Fabrica Adapter for HP Network Node Manager

The New Visualization Product Transforms Visio Diagrams into Real-Time Network Topology Maps and NOC Models

Cupertino, CA, Sep. 9, 2006 - Axibase Corporation announced today the release and immediate availability of Axibase Fabrica adapter for HP Network Node Manager (NNM). This new integration joins a rapidly growing family of Visio-based modeling and visualization solutions for leading systems and network management frameworks and is enhanced by Fabrica’s unique capabilities such as cross-layer decomposition and SQL-based NNM object search.

"Axibase Fabrica for NNM is the most flexible and productive way to create real-time, service-centric NOC models and topological views in enterprise and service provider environments. With an estimated 80% of IT organization already using Visio for network diagramming and dependency modeling, Fabrica provides unbeatable usability while leveraging customer investments in Network Node Manager", said Sergei Rodionov, CEO and President, Axibase.

Besides bridging the gap between network operations managers, network solution architects, and the rest of the IT organization, Fabrica’s inaugural release for Network Node Manager features several innovations:

Layer Impact Manager - Helps users visualize the impact of core OSI and even custom layers by allowing users to interactively decompose topological views into a combination of visible and hidden layers with dynamic severity recalculation. This interactive masking capability provides a highly efficient method for identifying the cause of the problem at the entire layer, rather than element level.

NNM Query – NNM Query takes a radically different approach to fault diagnostics. It enables users to query the managed NNM environment (its underlying database) using a familiar SQL syntax. With NNM.Q, experts can get instant answers to complex questions such as “Show me failing interfaces on Cisco routers in any network segment except ‘com.enterp.%’”. Because NNM.Q SQL processor operates on Fabrica’s in-memory cache, it doesn’t introduce incremental load on the underlying NNM management stations.
